Your Family History
Researching your family history is more popular than ever. Because we are curious creatures most of us would love to learn something about our family we didn’t know. Are there any skeletons lurking away in the closet? Are there any heroes or villains?
Creating a Family Tree is an exciting way to discover who our ancestors are. It is something the whole family can get involved with and as a result, it will give your children an exciting new slant on history lessons at school. TV programmes such as “Who Do You Think You Are” have drawn attention to the subject. The programme shows celebrities discovering their unknown ancestors, helped by a team of specialists. However, did you know you don’t have to call on a team of historians and genealogists to trace your family history and create a family tree?
Hunting for Your Heritage
As a result of all this additional interest in family histyory, there is plenty of help to search for your heritage on the World Wide Web. It need not cost you a lot there are plenty of free resources available to anyone who wants to look for their family history online for no charge.
During my time researching my own family tree I have discovered and experienced many websites which I have found useful. This website shows you where you can find some surprising and not so surprising pieces of information and how you can record and build your own family tree for future generations.
Finally, whilst I am not a trained genealogist I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge while tracing my own family tree back to the 17th century.
Good luck in your search and you never know who you may find!
